Instrument Panel (IP) - Carrier Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the steering column from the vehicle.
3. Remove the LH front assist handle screws.
4. Remove the LH front assist handle.
5. Remove the RH front assist handle screws.
6. Remove the RH front assist handle.
7. Remove the windshield pillar moldings.




8. Remove the passenger side instrument panel (I/P) access panel.




9. Remove the passenger side air deflector outlet screw.




10. Remove the passenger side air deflector outlet.




11. Remove the passenger side air outlet duct.
12. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module cover.
13. Remove the I/P compartment.
14. Remove the passenger side SIR module.
15. Remove the console.
16. Remove the center console air duct screw.
17. Remove the center console air duct.
18. Remove the radio tape player bezel.
19. Remove the radio.
20. Remove the climate control head.




21. Remove the center air outlet deflector.




22. Remove the center air outlet screws.
23. Remove the center air deflector outlet housing.
24. Remove the driver's side access panel.
25. Remove the driver's side air outlet deflector.




26. Remove the driver's side air deflector outlet screw.
27. Remove the driver's side air deflector outlet housing.
28. Remove the driver's side lower outlet duct.
29. Remove the headlamp switch.
30. Remove the instrument cluster.
31. Remove the fuse and relay panels screws.
32. Remove the fuse and relay panels from the I/P.




33. Remove the steering column support bracket nut.




34. Remove the steering column support bracket bolt.




35. Remove the I/P carrier bolts LH side.




36. Remove the I/P carrier bolts RH side.
37. Remove the headlamp automatic control ambient light sensor.
38. Remove the wiring harness connectors from the I/P carrier (headlamp switch, instrument cluster, and sun load sensor).

IMPORTANT: The wiring harness cannot be removed with the carrier.

39. Remove the wiring harness clips from the I/P carrier.
40. Remove the I/P carrier.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the I/P carrier into the mounting position.
2. Install the wiring harness clips to the I/P carrier.
3. Install the wiring harness connectors to the I/P carrier (headlamp switch, instrument cluster, and sun load sensor).
4. Install the headlamp automatic control ambient light sensor.
5. Install the I/P carrier bolts LH side.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel carrier bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




6. Install the I/P carrier bolts RH side.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel carrier bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




7. Install the steering column support bracket bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the steering column support bracket bolt until fully seated but not stripped.




8. Install the steering column support bracket nut.

Tighten
Tighten the steering column support bracket nut until fully seated but not stripped.




9. Install the fuse and the relay panels to the I/P.
10. Install the fuse and the relay panel screws.

Tighten
Tighten the fuse and relay panel screws until fully seated but not stripped.

11. Install the instrument cluster.
12. Install the headlamp switch.
13. Install the driver's side outlet duct.
14. Install the driver's side air deflector outlet housing.
15. Install the driver's side air deflector outlet screw.




16. Install the driver's side air outlet deflector.
17. Install the driver's side access panel.




18. Install the center air deflector outlet housing.
19. Install the center air outlet screws.




20. Install the center air outlet deflector.




21. Install the climate control head.
22. Install the radio.
23. Install the radio tape player bezel.
24. Install the center console air duct.
25. Install the center console air duct screw.
26. Install the console.
27. Install the passenger side SIR module.
28. Install the I/P compartment.
29. Install the inflatable restraint I/P module cover.
30. Install the passenger side air outlet duct.




31. Install the passenger side air deflector outlet.




32. Install the passenger side air deflector outlet screw.




33. Install the passenger side instrument panel (I/P) access panel.




34. Install the windshield pillar moldings.
35. Install the RH front assist handle.
36. Install the RH front assist handle screws.
37. Install the LH front assist handle.
38. Install the LH front assist handle screws.
39. Install the steering column.
40. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
