Wiper Motor Linkage: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Tools Required
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator




1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel.
3. Remove the transmission drive link from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232.




4. Remove six screws.




5. Remove the wiper transmission assembly by guiding it through the access hole in the shroud upper panel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Tools Required
J 39529 Wiper Linkage Installer




1. Position the wiper transmission assembly in the plenum chamber through the shroud upper panel openings.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




2. Install the six screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (71 lb in).




3. Install the transmission drive link socket to the wiper motor crank arm ball using the J 39529.
4. Install the air inlet grille panel.
5. Install the wiper arms.
