Rear Lower Ball Joint Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE- Tools Required
- J 9519-E Ball Joint Remover
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Support the lower control arm with a suitable jack stand.
4. Remove the cotter pin and ball stud nut.
5. Separate the ball joint from the knuckle.
6. Using J 9519-E, remove the ball joint from the lower control arm.
7. Remove the ball joint.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Using J 9519-E, install the ball joint in the control arm.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the ball stud hex nut.
- Tighten the nut to 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the wheel and tires.
- Tighten the wheel nuts to 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
