Power Steering Pump Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the drive belt.
2. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
3. Disconnect the return pipe from the reservoir.
4. Remove the pressure pipe from, the pump.





5. Remove the pump mounting bolt.
6. Remove the pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly from the vehicle.





7. Remove the pump and reservoir assembly (2) from the bracket (1).
8. Remove the pulley (3) from the pump.
9. Remove the retaining clips that attach the reservoir (2) to the pump.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the retaining clips in order to attach the reservoir (2) to the pump.
2. Install the pump and reservoir (2) to the bracket (1).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the pump to bracket bolts (4,5).
- Tighten the pump to bracket bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the pulley (3) to the pump.
5. Position the pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly to the vehicle.





6. Install the pump mounting bolt to the engine.
- Tighten the pump mounting bolt to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

7. Install the pressure pipe to the pump.
- Tighten the pressure pipe fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

8. Install the return hose to the reservoir.
9. Install the drive belt.
10. Fill the power steering system.
11. Bleed the power steering system.
