TP Sensor

Display shows the amount of throttle opening in volts, with closed throttle near 0 volts and wide open throttle above 4.0 volts.

Display shows a value from -6.5 to +6.5 degrees. This display indicates the amount the TP sensor has been corrected to obtain the TP Normalized value of 0 degrees. The TP sensor is not physically adjustable. In order to compensate for manufacturing tolerances and also for throttle body bore deposit buildup the PCM will adjust the TP Normalized value using this correction factor. At key ON the PCM will slightly decrease this value in order to ensure that the throttle is at rest. If the throttle is at rest the slight decrease will be learned out. Refer to DTC P1524 Throttle Closed Position Performance. When DTC P1524 fails this value is set to 0 degrees.
