Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Pull edge of drivers side carpet back enough to access grommet.
2. Remove the grommet from the floor pan.
3. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points in General Information.





4. Disconnect the front cable housing (2) from the intermediate cable (1) at the cable clip.
5. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points in General Information.
6. Disconnect the cable from the lever assembly.
7. Remove the parking brake front cable assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Position the front parking brake cable assembly in the vehicle.
2. Connect the cable to the lever assembly.
3. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points in General Information.





4. Connect the front cable housing (2) to the intermediate cable (1) at the cable clip.
5. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points in General Information.





6. Seat the grommet in the floor pan.
7. Install carpet into place.
8. Adjust the parking brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Cable Inspection.
