Wheel Cylinder: Service and Repair

WHEEL CYLINDER REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Lining Replacement.
2. Disconnect the brake pipe from the rear of the wheel cylinder.
3. Remove the wheel cylinder bolts.
4. Remove the wheel cylinder.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the wheel cylinder.
2. Install the bolts.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the brake pipe.

Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Lining Replacement.
