Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver's door. When operated, the Express Down Feature allows the door window to drop very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.




1. Disable the SIR system if equipped with the SIR side impact system Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.
2. Roll the window half way down.
3. Tape the window into place.
4. Remove the front door trim panel.
5. Remove the front door water deflector.
6. Remove the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped.
7. Remove the power window regulator motor electrical connector.
8. Remove the guide rail adjuster.
9. Remove the rivets by drilling out.
10. Remove the front door window regulator and motor from the door.




11. Remove the door window regulator motor screws.
12. Remove the window regulator from the motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the window regulator to the motor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the door window regulator motor screws.

Tighten
Tighten the door window motor screws to 5 N.m (45 lb in).

3. Install the front door window regulator and motor from the door.




4. Install new rivets to regulator.
5. Install the guide rail adjuster.
6. Install the power window regulator motor electrical connector.
7. Install the Inflatable restraint side impact sensor mounting plate if equipped.
8. Install the front door water deflector.
9. Install front door trim panel.
10. Remove tape from the window.
11. Enable SIR system if equipped with SIR side impact system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.
