Parts Cleaning, Inspection and Replacement

1. Inspect the shift control cable for the following conditions. Repair or replace as needed:
^ Wear at the pivot points
^ Bent or broken cable housing
2. Inspect all of the seals, the gaskets, the O-ring seals, and the mating surfaces for the following conditions. Replace as needed:
^ Nicks
^ Cuts
^ Damage
3. Inspect the snap rings for the following conditions. Replace as needed:
^ Expansion
^ Compression
^ Distortion
^ Nicks
^ Improper ring to groove fit
4. Inspect all of the bearing and thrust surfaces for the following conditions. Replace as needed:
^ Wear
^ Scoring
^ Pitting
