65. Converter Housing Assembly Installation

- J 38588-1 Guide Pins
- J 23082-01 Oil Pump Aligner
- J 36850 Transjel@





1. Install the adapter case thrust washer (12) as determined by the selective thrust washer check to the oil pump. Retain with J 36850 or equivalent.





2. Install J 38588- 1.
3. Install the oil pump to case gasket (11) onto the pump. Retain with J 36850 or equivalent.
4. Install the converter housing and the oil pump assembly.
5. Remove J 38588- 1.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the converter housing to case bolts (4).
^ Tighten the bolts to 40 Nm (29 ft. lbs.) in an alternating pattern.
7. Rotate the oil pump drive gear using J23082-01 to check for free movement.
