Ride Height Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Automatic Level Control (ALC) sensor.
4. Unclip the wires from the rear axle cradle.
5. Release the self-locking tabs in order to remove the link rod from the sensor arm.
6. Remove the ALC sensor bolts.
7. Remove the ALC sensor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the Automatic Level Control (ALC) sensor.
2. Install the ALC sensor bolts.
- Tighten the ALC sensor bolts to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Secure the link rod to the ALC sensor arm with the locking tabs.
4. Route the ALC sensor wiring to the rear axle cradle.
5. Clip the ALC sensor wiring to the rear axle cradle.
6. Connect the electrical connection.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Reprogram the ALC system. Using the scan tool, follow the instructions on the display screen.
10. Inspect for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
11. Verify that the system is operating properly.
