Automatic Transmission Warning Lamp (1ST Design)

This lamp comes on briefly when the ignition is turned to the RUN position. If the lamp remains on or illuminates during driving, a problem with the automatic transmission is indicated.

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) performs a continual self diagnosis of certain control functions. The lamp illuminates only when an error is detected. The TCM stores in memory a current and/or history trouble code when a problem is detected.
