Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake air resonator.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt.





4. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolts.
5. Remove the crankshaft balancer from the crankshaft drive gear.


Installation Procedure
1. Install the crankshaft balancer to the crankshaft drive gear.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the crankshaft balancer bolts.
^ Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the accessory drive belt.
4. Install the intake air resonator.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Reprogram the applicable accessories. Refer to Reprogramming Accessories After Battery Disconnect in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Warning Indicators.
