Instrument Panel (IP) - Carrier Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE



1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering column from vehicle.
3. Remove the screws from the left front assist handle.
4. Remove the left front assist handle.
5. Remove the screws from the right front assist handle.
6. Remove the right front assist handle.
7. Remove the windshield pillar moldings.




8. Remove the access panel from the passenger side instrument panel (IP).




9. Remove the outlet screw from the passenger side air deflector.




10. Remove the passenger side air deflector outlet.




11. Remove the passenger side air outlet duct.
12. Remove the IP inflatable restraint module cover.
13. Remove the IP compartment.
14. Remove the passenger side SIR module.
15. Remove the upper center console.
16. Remove the lower center console.
17. Remove the screw from the center console air duct.
18. Remove the center console air duct.
19. Remove the bezel from the radio tape player.
20. Remove the radio.
21. Remove the climate control head.




22. Remove the center air outlet deflector.




23. Remove the outlet screws from the center air deflector.
24. Remove the outlet housing from the center air deflector.




25. Remove the driver side access panel.
26. Remove the driver side air outlet deflector.




27. Remove the outlet screw from the driver side air deflector.
28. Remove the outlet housing from the driver side air deflector.
29. Remove the driver side lower outlet duct.
30. Remove the headlamp switch.
31. Remove the instrument cluster.
32. Remove the fuse and relay panels screws.
33. Remove the fuse and relay panels from the IP.




34. Remove the bracket nut from the steering column support.




35. Remove the bracket bolt from the steering column support.




36. Remove the left side IP carrier bolts.




37. Remove the right side IP carrier bolts.
38. Remove the ambient light sensor.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT remove the wiring harness with the carrier.

39. Remove the wiring harness connectors from the IP carrier (headlamp switch, instrument cluster, and sun load sensor).
40. Remove the wiring harness clips from the IP carrier.
41. Remove the IP carrier.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE



1. Install the IP carrier into the mounting position.
2. Install the wiring harness clips to the IP carrier.
3. Install the wiring harness connectors to the IP carrier (headlamp switch, instrument cluster, and sun load sensor).
4. Install the ambient light sensor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the left side IP carrier bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel carrier bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




6. Install the right side IP carrier bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel carrier bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




7. Install the bracket bolt to the steering column support.

Tighten
Tighten the bracket bolt until fully seated but not stripped.




8. Install the bracket nut to the steering column support.

Tighten
Tighten the bracket nut until fully seated but not stripped.




9. Install the fuse and the relay panels to IP.
10. Install the fuse and the relay panel screws.

Tighten
Tighten the fuse and relay panel screws until fully seated but not stripped.

11. Install the instrument cluster.
12. Install the headlamp switch.
13. Install the driver side lower outlet duct.
14. Install the outlet housing to the driver side air deflector.
15. Install the outlet screw to the driver side air deflector.




16. Install the driver side air outlet deflector.
17. Install the driver side access panel.




18. Install the outlet housing to the center air deflector.
19. Install the outlet screws to the center air deflector.




20. Install the center air outlet deflector.




21. Install the climate control head.
22. Install the radio.
23. Install the bezel to the radio tape player.
24. Install the center console air duct.
25. Install the screw to the center console air duct.
26. Install the lower center console.
27. Install the upper center console.
28. Install the passenger side SIR module.
29. Install the IP compartment.
30. Install the IP inflatable restraint module cover.
31. Install the passenger side air outlet duct.




32. Install the passenger side air deflector outlet.




33. Install the outlet screw to the passenger side air deflector.




34. Install the access panel to the passenger side instrument panel.




35. Install the windshield pillar moldings.
36. Install the right front assist handle.
37. Install the screws to the right front assist handle.
38. Install the left front assist handle.
39. Install the screws to the left front assist handle.
40. Install the steering column.
41. Enable the SIR system.
42. Reprogram the accessories.
