Door Removal - Front

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 42081 Door Hinge Pin Remover and Installer




1. Disable the SIR system if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.
2. Tape the edges of the door and the fender in order to prevent damage when removing.
3. Remove the rubber conduit.
4. Disconnect the front door electrical connectors to the door
5. Remove the wiring harness from the front pillar.
6. Support the door with a suitable stand.
7. Remove the check link.
8. Remove the hinge pins using the J 42081.
9. Remove the weather caps from the pins.
10. Insert the J 42081 around the hinge collar while tapping each pin lightly with a hammer until the hinge pin release.
11. Remove the door with the aid of a assistant.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the door with aid of a assistant.
2. Install the hinge pins:
^ Insert the J 42081 around the hinge collar while using a small hammer to tap each pin into the hinge hole.
^ Install the weather caps.
3. Remove the door support.
4. Inspect the door to body alignment.
5. Install the check link.
6. Install the front pillar wiring harness.
7. Connect all electrical connectors that were removed.
8. Install the rubber conduit.
9. Remove the tape from the door and the fender.
10. Enable the SIR system if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.
