Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement




REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the defroster grille.
3. Disconnect the sunload and twilight sensors from the defroster grille.
4. Remove the windshield garnish moldings.
5. Remove the 3 fasteners (1) that retain the upper trim panel.
Remove the fasteners through the defroster grille openings.
6. Remove the air outlet deflectors.

IMPORTANT: Close the air outlets in order to prevent the upper trim panel fasteners from falling into the HVAC ducts.

7. Remove the 4 fasteners (2) that retain the upper trim panel.
Remove the fasteners through the vent openings.

IMPORTANT: This step refers to the passenger side of the vehicle.

8. Press down on the forward edge of the trim panel while pulling upward and back on the rear edge of the trim panel.
9. Remove the upper trim panel (5).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the upper trim panel on top of the instrument panel. Ensure that the sensors protrude through the trim panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the 4 fasteners (2) through the heat and A/C vent openings.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

3. Install the air outlet deflectors.
4. Install the 3 fasteners (1) through the defroster grille openings.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

5. Install the windshield garnish moldings.
6. Connect the sunload and twilight sensors to the defroster grille.
7. Install the defroster grille.
8. Enable the SIR system.
