System Check

Before beginning the system check, make sure that these components and circuits are working properly:
^ Parking lights.
^ Low beam headlights.
^ Horn.
^ Power door locks.

Alarm Mode Activation
To check that the system activates the alarm mode perform the following procedure:
1. Turn off the headlights and parking lights.
2. Open a window, so that the door can be unlocked from the inside, by using the manual door lock knob.
3. Place the system in the armed mode, refer to Arming the System.
4. Reach through the window and unlock the door using the manual door lock knob.
5. Open the door. The system enters the alarm mode, the horns sound intermittently and the exterior lights flash for approximately 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the system shuts down automatically.

Return System to Standby Mode
To check that the system returns to the standby mode perform the following procedure:
1. Place the system in the armed mode, refer to Arming the System.
2. Unlock the door with the key.
3. Open the door. The system does not enter the alarm mode. Although, the security indicator flashes indicating that the system has entered the standby mode.

Ignition Disarm Function
To check that the ignition disarm function operates perform the following procedure:
1. Place the system in the armed mode, refer to Arming the System. hut remain in the vehicle.
2. Wait for the SECURITY indicator to turn off, thus indicating that the system is armed.
3. Cycle the ignition switch from OFF to ON, then back to OFF.
4. Open the door. The system does not enter the alarm mode. Although, the SECURITY indicator flashes indicating that the system has entered the standby mode.
