Compressor Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
3. Remove the compressor hose bolt through the top of the compressor using a long ratchet extension and a swivel socket.
4. Remove the intake air resonator.
5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
6. Remove the compressor hose O-rings.
7. Remove the compressor hose clamp to air pipe bracket bolt (1).
8. Remove the compressor hose to oil pan bolt.
9. Remove the drive belt.
10. Remove the three front compressor mounting bolts.
11. Remove the two rear compressor mounting bolts (1).
12. Disconnect the compressor connector.
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Remove the compressor through the top of the engine compartment.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the compressor through the top of the engine compartment.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
3. Connect the compressor connector.
4. Install the rear compressor mounting bolts (1).
5. Install the front compressor mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor mounting bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
6. Install the drive belt.
7. Install the compressor hose to oil pan bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose to oil pan bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
8. Install the compressor hose clamp to air pipe bracket bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose clamp to air pipe bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
9. Install the compressor hose O-rings:
^ Use new O-rings.
^ Lubricate the new O-rings with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.
10. Install the compressor hose.
11. Install the compressor hose bolt.
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. From the top of the engine compartment with a long ratchet extension:
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose bolt to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
14. Install the intake air resonator.
15. Connect the battery negative cable.
16. Reprogram all applicable accessories.
17. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
18. Leak test the A/C system.
