REMOVAL PROCEDUREHinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Removal Procedure:
CAUTION: When a rear compartment lid hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate sup pod to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the wiring and the shield (1) on the left side of the compartment lid hinge.

3. Remove the rear compartment lid strut.
4. Remove the nuts (2) from the compartment lid upper hinge.
5. Remove the hinge screws (3) from the quarter panel.
6. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge (4).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Installation Procedure:
1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge (4).
2. Install the hinge screws (3) to the quarter panel.
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge screws to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).
3. Install the nuts (2) to the rear compartment lid hinge (4).
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge nuts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).
Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid: Installation Procedure:
4. Install the rear compartment lid strut.
5. Install the wiring and shield (1) to the left side compartment lid hinge.
6. Close the rear compartment lid.
7. Adjust rear compartment lid.
