Compartment Lid Replacement: Rear

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear: Removal Procedure:

CAUTION: When a rear compartment lid hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid finish panel.
3. Remove the rear compartment lid manual release handle.
4. Remove the rear compartment lid release actuator.
5. Remove the rear compartment lid latch.
6. Remove the rear compartment lid ajar switch.
7. Remove the rear compartment lid applique.
8. Remove the high mount stoplamp.
9. Unclip the harness to remove electrical connectors from the rear compartment lid.
10. Mark the location of the rear compartment lid to the hinges.
11. Remove the nuts from the rear compartment lid hinges.
12. Remove the rear compartment lid with the aid of a helper

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear: Installation Procedure:

1. Return the rear compartment lid to the previously marked locations with the aid of a helper.
2. Install the nuts to the rear compartment lid hinges.

Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge nuts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

3. Clip the harness to the inside of the rear compartment lid to install the electrical connector to the rear compartment lid.
4. Install the high mount stoplamp.
5. Install the rear compartment lid applique.
6. Install the rear compartment lid ajar switch.
7. Install the rear compartment lid latch.
8. Install the rear compartment lid release actuator.
9. Install the rear compartment lid manual release handle.
10. Install the rear compartment lid finish panel.
11. Inspect the alignment of the rear compartment lid.
12. Close the rear compartment lid.
