REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Assist Rod Replacement - Hood: Removal Procedure:

1. Raise the hood.

IMPORTANT: Support the hood in the full open position.

2. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the hood strut clip.
3. Unsnap the clip from the upper ball stud.

Assist Rod Replacement - Hood: Removal Procedure:

4. Remove the hood strut mounting bracket bolts from the tender.
5. Remove the hood strut.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Assist Rod Replacement - Hood: Installation Procedure:

1. Install the hood strut mounting bracket bolts to the fender.
2. Snap on to upper ball stud.

Assist Rod Replacement - Hood: Installation Procedure:

3. Secure with the hood strut clip.

Tighten
Tighten the hood strut mounting bracket bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Remove the hood support.
5. Lower the hood.
