Hood Latch Replacement (Primary Hood Latch Spring)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Hood Latch Replacement (Primary Hood Latch Spring): Removal Procedure:

1. Raise the hood.
2. Release the self-locking screw on the radiator cover.
3. Remove the left radiator cover.
4. Remove the hood release cable retainer screw.
5. Remove the hood release cable retainer bracket.
6. Remove the hood release cable from the latch spring.
7. Remove the primary hood latch spring from the core-support.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Hood Latch Replacement (Primary Hood Latch Spring): Installation Procedure:

1. Install the primary hood latch spring to the core-support.
2. Install the hood release cable to the latch spring.
3. Install the hood release cable retainer screw.
4. Install the hood release cable retainer bracket.
5. Provide ample tension to the hood release cable prior to tightening the retainer screw.
6. Install the left (driver's side) radiator cover.
7. Seat the self-locking screw.
8. Lower the hood.
