Unlocking

The unlocking operation is similar to the locking operation except that the polarity of the voltage applied to the side door lock actuators is reversed.

Setting the LH or RH front side door lock switch to the UNLOCK position provides an input signal to the BCM which in turns provides the following two unlock outputs:
^ One unlock output signal goes to the driver door unlock relay.
^ The other unlock output signal goes to the door unlock relay.

The following occurs when ground is applied to the driver door unlock relay coil:
^ The relay energizes.
^ B+ is supplied to the LH front side door lock actuator.

This causes it to energize and unlock the driver door.

The following occurs when ground is applied to the door unlock relay coil:
^ The relay energizes.
^ B+ is provided to the RH front side door lock actuator.
^ B+ is provided to the LH rear side door lock actuator.
^ B+ is provided to the RH rear side door lock actuator.

This causes them to energize and unlock the passenger door and both of the rear doors.
