Troubleshooting Hints

Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but test "OK" in a continuity or voltage test with the system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded and, if possible, should be checked for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).

Perform the following before beginning System Diagnosis:
1. Check the trunk compartment fuse block Electronic Level Control (ELC) fuse. If open, check CKT 2141 (BRN) for a short to ground.
2. Check the Maxi fuse block ELC circuit breaker. If blown, check CKT 1340 (ORN) for a short to ground.
3. Check that the height sensor connector is properly connected.
4. Check that ELC system connectors and G403 are clean and tight.
5. Check that the link is connected to the height sensor and to the rear suspension.
6. Check that the link and height sensor arm are not damaged.
7. Check for proper installation of aftermarket equipment that may affect the operation of the ELC system.
