REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Exhaust system from rear hangers and suitably support.

Important: Before disconnecting air hose and air tube from air compressor, clean the components and the surrounding area to prevent dirt and other foreign material from entering Electronic Level Control (ELC) system.

3. Air tube (1) from air dryer (2).
4. Air tube (1) and two clips (6) from air compressor bracket (4).
5. Intake air filter and air hose from vehicle and air compressor.
6. Harness connector (1) from air compressor connector (H).

7. Three bolts (9) and air compressor assembly (J) with bracket (4) from vehicle.
8. Three bolts (10) and air compressor assembly (J) from bracket (4).
9. Air dryer from air compressor.
10. Two screws (11) and two brackets (12 and 13) from air compressor (3).

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the correct location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and the joint clamping force, and may damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Two brackets (13 and 12) on air compressor (3) with two screws (11).
^ Tighten two screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
2. Air dryer on air compressor.
3. Air compressor assembly (J) on bracket (4) with three bolts (10).
^ Tighten three bolts to 2.5 to 3.0 Nm (23 to 26 inch lbs.)
4. Air compressor assembly (J) with bracket (4) on vehicle with three bolts (9).
^ Tighten three bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
5. Harness connector (G) to air compressor connector (H).
6. Intake air filter and hose to vehicle and air compressor.
7. Air tube (1) to air compressor bracket (4).
8. Air tube (1) to air dryer (2).
9. Exhaust system on hangers.
10. Lower vehicle.

Important: Before driving vehicle, turn ignition on and wait approximately 45 seconds. This will permit the ELC system to execute the Air Replenishment Cycle (ARC), ensuring that the air adjustable shock absorbers are filled with, at least, residual pressure.
