Brake Fluid Level Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

The master cylinder includes a low brake fluid warning switch. If a low brake fluid level is detected in the master cylinder reservoir, the low-fluid warning switch will cause the brake warning light to illuminate. Parking Brake System The parking brake system allows the rear brakes to be mechanically applied by depressing the parking brake pedal. This system mechanically forces the rear caliper pistons outward from the caliper assembly, causing the shoe and lining assemblies to create a clamping force on the rear rotors and applying the rear brakes. The parking brake also utilizes an automatic vacuum release system.
