With/Without Air Bag Deployment-Component Inspection
After any collision, inspect the following components as indicated. If you detect any damage, replace the component. If you detect any damage to the mounting points or mounting hardware, repair the component or replace the hardware as needed.Steering Column-Dimensionally inspect per Checking Steering Column for Accident Damage in Tilt Steering Column Unit Repair (SIR, Column Shift) or Tilt Steering Column Unit Repair (SIR, Floor Shift).
^ Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor - Determine the need for replacement based upon the following Sensor Replacement Guidelines.
^ Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) - Determine the need for replacement based upon the following Sensor Replacement Guidelines.
^ I/P Knee Bolsters and Mounting Points - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ I/P Steering Column Reinforcement Plate - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ I/P Braces - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ I/P Mounting Points and Brackets
^ Inflatable Restraint I/P Module Mounting Points - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ Seat Belts and Mounting Points - Refer to Seat Belts in Seat Belts.
^ Driver and Passenger Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensing Module (SISM) Mounting Points - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
^ Driver and Passenger Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Inflator Module Mounting Points - Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking, or other damage.
