Throttle Body Removal
Removal ProcedureNotice: Take care not to damage the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor housing screen. Damage to the screen could restrict air flow possibly resulting in a driveability concern.
Notice: Numbers in text correspond to numbered components in image.
1. Remove the negative battery cable.
Air Cleaner Housing:
2. Remove the air intake duct.
MAF Sensor With Connector:
3. Remove the MAF sensor electrical connector.
MAF Sensor Assembly:
4. Remove the MAF sensor assembly.
Transaxle Vent Hose:
5. Remove the transaxle vent hose from the clip.
Cruise Control Cable Bracket:
6. Remove the cruise control cable from bracket.
7. Remove the accelerator cables from bracket.
Transaxle Shift Cable:
8. Disconnect the transaxle shift cable.
Accelerator Cable And Throttle Body:
9. Remove the accelerator cable from throttle body.
10. Remove the cruise control cable from throttle body.
MAF Sensor With Connector:
11. Remove the Throttle Position (TP) sensor connection.
12. Remove the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector.
Throttle Body And Coolant Pipes:
13. Remove the throttle body coolant hoses at the throttle body.
Accelerator Cable Bracket:
14. Remove the accelerator cable bracket and 2 lower bolts.
Throttle Body Service:
15. Remove the throttle body (1) and gasket (2).
