Automatic Climate Control

SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The climate control system automatically regulates and maintains the In-Vehicle air temperatures from 65°F/18°C to 85°F/29°C regardless of the changes in the outside air temperature. Settings of 60°F/16°C (max cool) and 90°F/32°C (max heat) provide unregulated heating and cooling.

The A/C control assembly is used for selecting an In-Vehicle comfort level. The other main components that comprise the climate control system are the Heater and A/C Programmer (ACM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Temperature Sensors, HVAC Module, and the refrigeration system.

The climate control system is most easily understood if it is divided into four categories. These are:
^ General Operation.
^ Air Delivery System.
^ Refrigeration System.
^ Temperature Control System.

In order to fully understand the climate control system, you should first have a thorough understanding of the air delivery and refrigeration system.
