Engine Coolant Hot Idle Engine Message Description
The IPC monitors coolant temperature as reported by the PCM over Class 2 serial data. When the PCM reports coolant temperature greater than 126°C (259°F), the IPC will display the "ENGINE COOLANT HOT IDLE ENGINE" message. This message will continued to be displayed until coolant temperature falls below 121°C (250°F). This message will not be displayed if the IPC cannot communicate with the PCM or if the PCM determines there is a coolant sensor Malfunction (DTC P1114 or P1115).
