Circuit Description:
When a key is inserted in the ignition, contacts located in the ignition cylinder contact the resistor pellet in the key. The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) measures the resistance of the key pellet and then compares it to the one stored in the IPCs memory.
DTC Will Set When:
1. The IPC determines that one of 15 valid key pellets was detected, and matches the resistance of the one stored in the IPCs memory.
2. The IPC Class 2 vehicle security password report message was sent and acknowledged.
3. The IPC then determines that one of 15 valid key pellets was detected, but it now does not match the resistance of the one stored in the IPCs memory.
Action Taken (By The IPC):
The IPC will display "Theft System Car May Not Restart" message on the DIC.
