Circuit Description:
When a key is inserted in the ignition, contacts located in the ignition cylinder contact the resistor pellet in the key. The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) measures the resistance of the key pellet and then compares it to the one stored in the IPCs memory.

DTC Will Set When:
The IPC determines that one of 15 valid key pellets was detected, but it does not match the resistance of the one stored in the IPCs memory.

Action Taken (By The IPC):
The IPC displays "Starting Disabled, Due to Theft System, Remove Ignition Key" on the DIC and prevent the vehicle from starting. The IPC will then count down a 3 minute delay, by displaying "Wait 1 - 2 - 3" on the DIC, before it will Allow the vehicle to start with a valid key pellet.
