B2470
Circuit Description:
The PZM commands the Daytime Running lamps (DRL) "ON" or "OFF" through a discrete output to the "DRL Relay." The Daytime Running Lamps can only be active when:
1. The ignition switch is in the "RUN" or "START" position.
2. Twilight Sentinel is not active.
3. The headlamps (low and high beam) and front foglamps are "OFF".
4. The transmission is not in PARK." When the relay is energized, it places the High Beams in a series circuit, providing lower illumination for the DRL.
A short to ground will be tested when:
1. Ignition-1 is "ON".
2. Daytime Running Lamps are inactive.
3. The IPC verifies that the vehicle has DRL.
A short to Battery will be tested when:
1. Ignition-1 is "OFF" or both Ignition-1 Daytime Running Lamps are active.
2. The IPC verifies that the vehicle has DRL.
DTC Will Set When:
The commanded state of the DRL does not match the feedback.
Action Taken (By PZM):
The PZM will continue to command the state requested until it is achieved or changes.
DTC Will Clear When:
The commanded state matches the feedback state for two consecutive monitoring cycles.
