B2143
DTC MMM B2140-B2143:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Memory Mirror Module (MMM) receives inputs from the outside mirror switch. To operate the outside mirror switch, the mirror select switch must be placed in either the LH or RH position. The mirror switch is then operated to move one of the mirrors. When the mirror switch is operated, more than one input is sent from the outside mirror switch to the MMM. If the MMM recognizes the input combination, it will move the appropriate mirror in the requested direction. If the MMM does not recognize the input combination as a valid input, it will ignore that combination and the mirrors will not be moved.
When any mirror switch input continues to be active for 30 seconds after motion in the requested direction has ceased, the switch is considered shorted.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The MMM will set the appropriate DTC any time it detects a switch failure.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ Motor outputs being driven in response to the suspect switch will be de-activated.
^ The MMM will continue to respond to valid inputs from the other manual switches.
^ All memory recall commands will he ignored.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
The MMM does not detect the switch failure during the last monitoring cycle.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
1. Clear DTCs and cycle the ignition.
2. If the DTC resets, replace the outside mirror switch.
