DTC 84 PCM Traction Control Not Allowed (4.9L Only)

Circuit Description

The PCM monitors various parameters and will not allow TCS operation if any of these parameters are not met.

Action Taken

1. Code set.
2. TCS switched "OFF".
3. "TRACTION DISABLED" message displayed.

Diagnostic Aids

Traction Control will be disabled if any of the following conditions exist:
- Engine Coolant Temperature less than -40�C.
- Engine Coolant Temperature greater than or equal to 131�C.
- Low coolant level detected.

This code is for information only. There are no problems with the ABS/TCS system. See Chart D "Traction Control Operation Check" for information on how to test TCS operation.
