Chart 4 Improper Air Delivery
Diagnostic Chart:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Air Conditioning Programmer (ACP) will direct the blended air in one of several air delivery modes. While the side window outlets receive air flow during all modes of operation, the other outlets are directed air by the ACP energizing specific vacuum valves feeding the appropriate combination of mode valve actuators. The ACP determines the proper air delivery mode based upon the current program number, control panel setting, set temperature, low side temperature, coolant temperature, outside air temperature and sun load.
NOTE: Rear blower is only on Eldorado/Seville.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.
1. This step checks the inlet valve (door).
2. Checks the DOWN part of the UP-DOWN valve (door).
3. Checks the UP part of the UP-DOWN valve (door).
4. Checks the A/C side of the A/C-defrost valve (door).
5. Checks the defrost side of the A/C-defrost valve (door).
NOTES ON INTERMITTENT CONNECTION
If an intermittent DTC is being set, select ACP Snapshot Data for DTC and note value of ACP data parameter. Manipulate the related wiring while observing ACP data parameter. If a failure is induced, the displayed data parameter value will be outside the sensors normal operating range.
