CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for proper system operation.
2. System is operating correctly. Connection to the J 39700 should disengage the shorting bar on the harness connector and turn "OFF" the "ANTILOCK" indicator.
3. Shorting bar is working properly. The problem may be due to a broken push pin on the EBTCM which will not disengage the shorting bar.
4. This is a final check to determine if the0 problem is internal to the EBTCM or an intermittent/poor connection.
5. System is not operating correctly. Checking for connector and/or terminal damage, corrosion and proper mating.
6. This is a final check to determine if the problem is internal to the EBTCM or an intermittent/poor connection.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
A hardwire connection between the EBTCM and the IPC, controls the "ANTILOCK" indicator when serial data communication with the IPC is lost. In all other instances, the IPC controls this lamp.
Inspect the shorting bar which is located in the EBTCM harness connector. Its purpose is to provide a ground path to turn "ON" the antilock indicator if the EBTCM connector becomes unplugged. Also inspect the tab for the shorting bar on the EBTCM connector. If this tab, which is molded plastic, should break off, the antilock indicator could remain on at all times.
