THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT

TOOL REQUIRED
J 29607, Idle Speed Control (ISC) Adjusting Wrench

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor connector.
3. Crankcase vent pipe at air intake duct.
4. Air intake duct with air cleaner housing.
5. Throttle Position (TP) sensor and ISC actuator electrical connectors.
6. Vacuum manifold at throttle body.
7. Cruise control cable at throttle body.
8. Cruise control servo vacuum hoses and electrical connector.
9. Cruise control servo and bracket. Lay aside with transaxle shift cable attached.
10. Accelerator cable at throttle body and ISC actuator bracket.
11. Injector harness, transaxle vent hose and vacuum lines at ISC actuator bracket.
12. Throttle body mount bolts.
13. Throttle body coolant hoses at throttle body.
14. Throttle body and O-ring seal.

DISASSEMBLE
1. ISC actuator bracket from ISC actuator.
2. TP sensor.

CLEAN
Throttle body O-ring sealing surfaces.

ASSEMBLE
1. TP sensor.
2. ISC actuator bracket to ISC actuator. Tighten TP sensor bolts to 2.3 Nm (20 lb. in.). Tighten ISC actuator bracket bolts to 19 Nm (14 lb. in.).

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Throttle body coolant hoses.
2. Position new throttle body Oring seal on throttle body with petroleum jelly.

IMPORTANT: Do Not reuse the old throttle body 0-ring seal.

3. Throttle body and mount bolts. Tighten Throttle body bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb. in.).
4. Accelerator cable at throttle body and ISC actuator bracket
5. Cruise control cable, servo and bracket to throttle body. Tighten Cruise control servo bracket bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb. in.).
6. Cruise control servo vacuum hoses and electrical connector.
7. Injector harness, transaxle vent hose and vacuum lines at ISC actuator bracket.
8. Vacuum manifold at throttle body.
9. TP sensor and ISC actuator electrical connectors.
10. Air intake duct with air cleaner housing.
11. Crankcase vent pipe at air intake duct.
12. IAT sensor connector.
13. Negative battery cable.

INSPECT
Check and add coolant as needed. Refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair.

ADJUST
1. Perform ISC check.
2. Perform Throttle Position Sensor/Idle Learn Procedure. Service and Repair
