Rear EVAP Pipe and Hose Replacement

Fuel Tank Installation:









REAR EVAP PIPE AND HOSE

NOTICE: If nylon pipes become kinked, and cannot be straightened, they must be replaced.
^ Do not attempt to repair sections of nylon pipes. If damaged, replace.
^ When replacing EVAP pipes, always replace them with original equipment or parts that meet the GM specifications for those parts.
^ When replacing EVAP hoses always replace them with original equipment or parts meeting GM specifications. Use only reinforced fuel-resistant hose which is identified with the word 'Fluoroelastomers' or 'GM 6163-M' on the hose.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Hardware retaining section of pipe to be replaced.
^ Note location of attaching hardware for installation.
2. Fuel tank if replacing vent valve hose to EVAP canister. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement. Service and Repair
3. Quick-connect fitting near fuel filter if replacing EVAP pipe from fuel filter area to EVAP canister.
4. Section of pipe or hose.

INSPECT
^ Hoses for cuts, swelling, cracks and distortion. Replace as required.
^ Pipes for holes, kinks and cracks. Replace Sections as required.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

IMPORTANT:
^ Follow the same routing as the original pipes and hoses.
^ Pipes and hoses must be properly secured to prevent chafing.

1. Pipe or hose.
2. Fuel tank if replacing vent valve hose to EVAP canister. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement.
3. Quick-connect fitting near fuel filter if replacing EVAP pipe from fuel filter area to EVAP canister.
4. Retaining hardware.
