DEFINITION
Starter solenoid energizes but engine does not crank.

POWERTRAIN SYSTEM
Perform Powertrain System Check, if not already completed. Chart 1 Powertrain System Check

MECHANICAL CAUSES
Check for engine seized

DIAGNOSTIC NOTE
This vehicle is equipped with Passkey theft deterrent system. The system does not require ACTIVE arming or disarming by the operator. The system instead reads an imbedded pellet in the ignition key to PASSIVELY activate the security system. If no other electrical problems can be found, diagnose the Passkey theft deterrent system for proper operation.
