"Trunk Open" Message
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The IPC monitors the trunk open input through pin "D7". The IPC provides a voltage on pin "D7" and monitors the voltage.
The IPC provides system voltage to the trunk pulldown circuit, and the trunk pulldown switch provides the signal path to ground. The IPC supplies and internally monitors the voltage level of the circuit at pin "D7". If the trunk lid is open, CKT 737 will be grounded through the trunk open switch. When this voltage is low the IPC displays the "TRUNK OPEN" message on the Driver Information Center.
TEST CONDITION(S)
1. Ignition 1 and Ignition 3 are present
FAILURE CONDITION(S)
1. Trunk open input is grounded
ACTION TAKEN
1. Display "TRUNK OPEN" message on the DIC.
DIAGNOSIS
CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSES
Erroneous Message Short to ground on CKT 737 or shorted trunk switch.
No Message Open in CKT 146, open in switch, or open in CKT 1150.
