"Stop Engine - Engine Overheated" Message

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The IPC provides system voltage to the engine metal temperature circuit, and the engine metal temperature switch provides the signal path to ground. The IPC supplies and internally monitors the voltage level of the circuit at pin "D10". When the engine metal temperature switch closes (an overheated engine metal condition present), the IPC will detect low voltage. If this condition exists for at least 2 seconds, the IPC will display the "STOP ENGINE - ENGINE OVERHEATED" message. This message will be accompanied by a warning chime.
TEST CONDITION(S)
1. Ignition 3 and Ignition 1 voltage are present.
FAILURE CONDITION(S)
1. Engine Metal Temperature switch is closed for 2 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN
1. Display the "STOP ENGINE - ENGINE OVERHEATED" message on the DIC.
2. Warning chime sounds.
3. Light "TEMP" telltale (Export/Canadian Only).

Erroneous Message Short to ground on CKT 37 or shorted switch
Low Oil Pressure Refer to COOLING SYSTEM Cooling System
No Message Open in CKT 37, open in switch, or open in CKT 250
