CODE S073 RR ROTARY SENSOR ACCELEROMETER SIGNAL FAULT

TEST CONDITIONS:
The RSS control module monitors the accelerometer data for a sensor out-of-range condition. The signal is out-of-range if it is under voltage (0.35 V) or over voltage (4.75 V).

FAULT CONDITIONS:
If the signal is out-of-range for more than 1 second at a vehicle speed greater than 5 MPH, the error is set.

ACTION TAKEN:
Set code, turn on "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" message, command all four dampers to firm.

DESCRIPTION:
The RSS control module monitors the accelerometer data for a sensor out-of-range condition. If the signal is under voltage (0.35 V) or over voltage (4.75 V) for more than 1 second at a vehicle speed greater than the full firm speed setting, the error is set.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:
[1] Refer to notes on intermittents. To diagnose this condition:
^ Clear codes,
^ Enter output cycling,
^ Manipulate affected wiring,
^ Tap the sensor, and
^ Recheck for codes.
[2] The RS accelerometer signal fault code may set due to the corresponding RS over-current code being set. If this is the case, the over-current code must be diagnosed first.
[3] After replacing the rotary sensor always perform the trim height adjustment.
[4] Refer to clearing codes.

IMPORTANT:
^ DO NOT BACKPROBE SENSORS, DAMPERS, OR ELC / RSS CONNECTORS.
^ WHEN ALL DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE, CLEAR CODES AND VERIFY OPERATION.
