CODE S050 RSS CONTROL MODULE FAULT






TEST CONDITIONS:
The RSS control module monitors various internal functions and data communications for valid operation. Additionally, the RSS control module checks calibratable and non-calibratable data memory spaces and all internal programs.

FAULT CONDITIONS:
If any RSS control module fault condition is detected, a code is set.

ACTION TAKEN:
The RSS control module will automatically perform internal checks and if after several checks, the fault is still present, a code is set and the "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" message is displayed. Additionally, all four dampers are de-energized (firm mode) and the Speed Sensitive Steering and Leveling functions are disabled.

DESCRIPTION:
The RSS control module performs internal checks to ensure valid operation. If a fault condition is detected and present after several retries, the RSS control module will de-energize all four dampers and disable SSS and Leveling functions. Recovery is attempted only after ignition is cycled "OFF" and "ON."

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:
[1] Service replacement control modules will have a code S050 or S051 stored in memory when shipped. After replacement of a control module, perform the RSS control module calibration procedure and the steering center and trim height adjustment procedures.
