NOTE: Removal of the intake manifold is necessary prior to removal of the throttle body. Refer to procedures for intake removal.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Intake manifold with throttle body.
2. Vacuum manifold at throttle body and vacuum hoses at cruise control servo.
3. Cruise control cable at servo. The cable can be removed at the servo blade without removing the plastic retainer.
4. Cruise control servo and bracket at throttle body.
5. Cruise control cable at throttle body.
6. TP sensor at throttle body.
7. Fuel pipe retainer at ISC bracket.
8. Throttle body from intake manifold.
9. ISC motor and bracket from throttle body.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. ISC motor and bracket to throttle body.
2. Position new throttle body O-ring seal on throttle body with petroleum jelly.
CAUTION: Do not reuse old throttle body 0-ring seal. The seal swells when exposed to fuel and oil and will not seat properly to the throttle body and intake manifold once the throttle body has been removed.
3. Throttle body with four bolts to intake manifold.
^ Torque bolts to 12 N-m (106 lb. ft.).
4. Fuel pipe retainer at ISC bracket.
5. TP sensor at throttle body.
^ Torque bolts to 12 N-m (106 lb. in.).
6. Cruise control cable at throttle body.
7. Cruise control servo and bracket at throttle body.
^ Torque bolts to 12 N-m (106 lb. in.).
8. cruise control cable at servo.
9. Vacuum manifold at throttle body and vacuum hoses at cruise control servo.
10. Intake manifold with throttle body on engine.
^ Perform ISC check.
^ Perform TP SENSOR/IDLE LEARN procedure.
PRECAUTIONS
NOTE: Care must be taken when handling the ECT sensor. Damage to the ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.
NOTE: A non-hardening sealer should be applied to the sensor threads prior to installation to prevent coolant leaks. Use P/N 1050805 or equivalent.
