Fuel Rail: Service and Repair

PRECAUTIONS
The fuel rail/wiring harness is to be serviced as an assembly. No wiring repairs should be made to the harness inside the intake manifold. If wiring repairs are necessary, replace the entire fuel rail/wiring harness.


REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1 . Fuel pump relay in engine compartment micro relay center.
2. Reliever fuel system pressure. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE RELIEF PROCEDURE.
3. Intake manifold top cover.
4. Intake manifold electrical connectors (2).
5. Fuel rail with injectors out intake manifold.
6. IAT sensor, MAP sensor, fuel pressure regulator and PFI fuel injectors (8) to fuel rail.



INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. IAT sensor, MAP sensor, fuel pressure regulator and PFI fuel injectors (8) to fuel rail.
2. Fuel rail with injectors into intake manifold housing.
3. Intake manifold cover.
^ Torque bolts to 12 N-m (106 lb. in.).
4. Intake manifold electrical connectors (2).
5. Fuel pump relay in engine compartment micro relay center.
