Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Replacement (Turbocharger)

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement Engine Sight Shield Replacement.





Note: Mechanical violence is not necessary for a successful disconnection/connection.

3. Release the clamp (2).

4. Separate the charge air cooler inlet pipe - turbo side (1) from the charge air cooler inlet pipe CAC side (3).




5. Open the radiator outlet hose bracket (6). Remove the radiator inlet hose.

6. Clip Out the vacuum pipe and the EVAP emission pipe from the bracket (4).

7. Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe bolt M8 (5).

8. Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe bolts M6 (2).

9. Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe (3).

10. Remove and DISCARD the charge air cooler inlet pipe seal (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW charge air cooler inlet pipe seal ring (1).

2. Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe bolt M8 (5) 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

4. Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe bolts M8 (2) 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

5. Clip the vacuum pipe and the EVAP emission pipe into the bracket (4).

6. Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator outlet hose bracket (6). Close the bracket.




7. Connect the charge air cooler inlet pipe - turbo side (1) with the charge air cooler inlet pipe CAC side (3).





Note: Do not rely on the audible click to confirm a secure connection has been made.

8. Check the correct connection of both charge air cooler pipes.

9. The clamp must engage safely over the charge air cooler inlet pipe - CAC side flange (2) at the shown positions (3).

10. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement Engine Sight Shield Replacement.

11. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
