PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AIR FILTER REPLACEMENT

Preliminary Procedure
Remove the instrument panel compartment:
1. Remove the inflatable restraint instrument panel lower module - passenger side:
a) Disable the SIR system.
CAUTION: Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
^ Air bag deployment
^ Personal injury
^ Unnecessary SIR system repairs
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
^ Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
^ If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
i. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
ii. Place the ignition in the OFF position.
iii. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
iv. Wait 2 minutes before working on the system.





1- Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Lower Module Fastener (Qty: 2)
2- Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Lower Module
v. Disconnect electrical connector.
2. Remove the right instrument panel outer trim cover.

2- Instrument Panel Compartment Fastener
3- Instrument Panel Compartment
a) Disconnect the electrical connections.





1- Unclip Air Inlet Housing Cover
Procedure
a) Use a suitable tool to unclip and remove the air inlet housing cover.

2- Passenger Compartment Air Filter.
