Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The F2DA fuse supplies battery voltage to the body control module (BCM). The BCM applies battery voltage to the courtesy lamps through the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit. When any door is opened, the jam switch contacts close and the BCM receives a door-open input. The door open input can be overridden by pressing the courtesy lamp switch located on the front dome/reading lamps.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* The ignition is ON.
* When a door is open.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
B2555 01
The BCM detects a short to voltage on the signal circuit.
B2555 02
The BCM detects a short to ground on the signal circuit.
B2555 04
The BCM detects an open on the signal circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The courtesy lamps cannot be turned off when any door is in the open or ajar position.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists.
* A history DTC will clear once 100 consecutive malfunction free ignition cycles have occurred.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Interior/Courtesy Lighting Master Switch parameter while pressing the courtesy lamp defeat switch. The parameter should change between Off and Door each time the switch is pressed.
2. Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Dome Lamp Switch parameter while pressing the courtesy lamp switch. The parameter should change between Active and Inactive each time the switch is pressed.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the E37F dome/reading lamps-front.
2. Test for less than 30 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
• If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
3. Ignition ON, test for greater than 10V between the signal circuit terminals listed below and ground:
* Signal terminal 4
* Signal terminal 5
• If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
4. If all circuits test normal, replace the E37F dome/reading lamps-front.
