51 16 045 Removing And Installing/Replacing Retaining Ring On Left Or Right Exterior Mirror (From 07/12)







Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove protective cap from exterior mirror







Release screws (1 to 3).

Installation note:
Observe installation locations of screws (1 to 3):
- Screws (1 and 2) with metric thread
- Screws (3) with non-metric thread







Release electric motor for electrically adjustable exterior mirror at latch mechanisms (1).
Feed out retaining ring (2) to the rear of exterior mirror and electric motor.

Installation note:
Make sure retaining ring (2) is correctly fitted on housing (3).
